From the autumn of 2008 David will resume his 'Meet An Author' sessions for Primary schools.
He will offer readings from his book 'The Amazing Adventures of Boogie One Shoe and Munch the Mouse and his contributions from 'Tell Me Once More' an anthology of poems and short stories for children and young people.
His workshops are tailored to meet the pupils' ages and are interactive to show that reading and writing can be fun.
Pupils will learn about writing for an audience.
Drafting and editing.
The publishing process.
Writing techinques including aliteration, onomatopoeia, similes, metaphors and conjunctions.
Pupils will be encouraged to participate in learning and singing songs or reciting verses.
'Cuthbert's Capers', a book of short stories around a boy's advenures is awaiting final editorial work prior to publication.
The pupils can get a preview of some of the stories and will have the opportunity to make constructive criticism.
