DAVID STANSFIELD (AUTHOR)

CHILDREN'S BOOKS

David was interviewed by Sarah Burton from BBC RadioHumberside on 13th June 2006. He talked about the book and gave a preview of 'Chill On Cheese' one of the songs from the book. David is planning an album of all the songs and raps contained in The Amazing Adventures Of Boogie One Shoe And Munch The Mouse.

David has been booked to give two 'Meet An Author' sessions in summer. The first is at  Frodinham Infants ' Summer School' on August 7th and the other at the Forge Children's Playscheme on August 17th . Both events are taking place in Scunthorpe, North Lincolsnire, UK.

David will be presenting another 'Meet An Author' session at Grange Lane Junior School, Scunthorpe on 27th September 2006.

David celebrated World Book Day on March 1st 2007 by spending the day with pupils from Holme Valley Primary School in Scunthorpe.

David is now facilitator for four Fresh Start Writers groups. Already established in Brigg and Scunthorpe, groups in Barton and Epworth will be launched in April and May 2008. These provide writers/aspiring writers, over the age of 50, with the opportunity of joining vibrant groups throughout the county of North Lincolnshire.

November 2008 - Health reasons have forced David  to give up running the Brigg and Epworth Fresh Start Writers Groups. He is now concentrating on the Scunthorpe and Barton Groups. Hopefully someone else will take up the co-ordination of the Brigg and Epworth groups.

He is currently editing submissions from members of the Scunthorpe Group for inclusion in an Anthology of Short Stories and Poems titled Best Bits. The book will be published by Fresh Start Publishing this year (20l0).

David has also been working with a group of Old People (the oldest lady is 102 years old!!!)  who attend the Burnham Road Day Centre in Epworth, North Lincolnshire. This is a joint Fresh Start/Day Centre project. He has taped memories of the past and has now compiled a book titled 'Life In The Past Lane'. The group also spent an afternoon with pupils at Epworth Primary School and the kids have contributed illustrations, poems and short stories. The book has been published by Fresh Start Publishing and can be purchased from Amazon.co.uk
